Seeking anybody stationed
on top of Vung Chua Mountain, during the summer or fall of 1968,
overlooking the coastal city of Qui Nhon. At the worlds largest
tropospheric scatter communication complex. I'm trying to remember the day
or the month the complex was attacted. All I remember is that it was a
Saturday night, and we had just watched the Bruce Brown surfing movie
"Endless Summer". Approx. within an hour we were attacked, the VC blew up
the guard shack to the entrance of the compound, and the gurad on duty
that night was the only one of us killed. We killed approx. 4 or 5 of
them. If anybody out there was preseent, I would greatly appreciate if you
could remember the date or month. |

the lighter on top has an eagle claw around a lighting bolt and the back
body states: "If you are not with the one you love, love the one you are

After 15 months in country
I can only remember one name: Dake Kronenberg. Anyone know him? I was a
72B20. Worked in the com center at Tan Son Nhut and at Phu Lam. Spent time
in between in Quang Tri with 588th Sig Co. No com center there, so spent
lots of time filling sand bags, building bunkers and staying up nights
with M60 hoping charlie would not be coming. |

I served at Camp
Radcliff, An Khe in spt of the 1st Air Cav, 173rd Airborne and the 4th Inf
Div. Would like to talk with anyone about their experiences there during
the same time period. Made supply runs to Qui Nhon often and always
enjoyed the An Khe Pass...HA HA HA. My experience certainly made a man out
of a boy! The very best is wished to all who read this post. WELCOME

Trying to contact 32d's and

In reading the posts, I saw you were looking
for Sp4 Rbt. Kraus's hometown. He was from Dorseyville, Pa. I am his
ex-wife, we were young and didn't have a chance to grow. With much love
for Bob.
- Additional information received 1/19/06:
Hi Roy,
Thanks for your quick response. Bob was 23 when he died. When he came home
on leave, we walked at least 5 miles a day, he kept me in good shape back
then!!!!! So many good memories have been coming back to me. Thanks
again, Lee

I was with HHC 459 signal
battalion, in Nha Trang from 1968 to 1969. I was a radio repairman on
base, and a warrant officer was in charge. I don't remember his name.
Please, if you were there get in touch with me, so we can share some
stories. |
